Eric and I have done our fair share of traveling since getting married last August, starting with our (super awesome) honeymoon to Rosemary Beach, Florida. Since then, we’ve made not one, but TWO trips to Baton Rouge to celebrate wonderful friends and weddings. We’ve traveled to Ohio, Alabama, and Tennessee, visiting family and friends. I highly recommend having friends and family distributed across the country. It gives an even better reason to travel! And, of course, we’ve had many travels around Kentucky, as we’re trying to soak in all of the wonderful places around us. (In case you were wondering, Shaker Village is still one of my favorite Kentucky places. Check it out.)
Two weekends ago, we traveled to Alabama to visit some of our favorite friends, Allen and Julie (and their little soon-to-be Tater Tot, Adleigh Ruth)! Allen and Julie live in one of the cutest little towns I’ve ever seen, and we hit up all the hot spots on our visit, from the doughnut shop, to the Mexican restaurant, to the old Indian mound. We hiked, took a driving tour of Florence, and ate way too much food. And, of course, we watched a good deal of football, as Allen and Julie are the biggest Auburn fans I’ve ever met. All the makings of a good mini-vacation, in my book.
Our travels continue tomorrow as we leave for our first official non-honeymoon vacation! I don’t think I can even begin to express how excited we are to fly across the country and experience all kinds of fun together! We’re headed to Seattle and Portland, where we’ll take in the sights, enjoy the outdoors, and hopefully not get rained on too much (it is the Northwest, after all). Expect an overflow of photos in the near future. Hooray for vacation!
