There are just a few things I’m excited about today:
Old-school TV shows: Okay, so I just discovered that The Wonder Years is on Netflix. I haven’t seen this show since elementary school. I like to think of it as the Boy Meets World of the 80’s (set in the 60’s), you know? Plus, how cute is Fred Savage?
So that’s one thing I’m excited about. I don’t know that Eric will care about that at all.
Arts and Crafts: Next on the list, I made a wreath yesterday. I’ve been wanting to make a wreath since the first days of Pinterest, and a year or so later, I’ve finally done it. I bought a grapevine wreath at Michael’s for $4.99 (although I saw some identical ones for $21.99…go figure), along with some burlap, yellow ribbon, and some fake flowers. I’m not sure it’s the best wreath in the world, but I feel like it will be easy enough to change things up. I hung it on the door to our laundry room, which is the first thing you see when you come down the stairs to our apartment. I think it really brightens up the place. Now if only it could make this cold basement feel like summer.
Food: Now that we’ve hit the craft category, let’s talk food. I am almost always hungry, no matter how much I eat. I try not to eat my lunch until 11:30, but my stomach is growling again by 1. And I’m not a quiet hungry person. My stomach growls at such a volume that people across the room can hear me. Last week, my stomach was growling so loudly that one of my co-workers brought a snack over to my desk, without me having to say anything. So when I got home at 3 today, I had to eat something immediately. We recently got a new blender (our original blender died in the month-long massacre of kitchen accessories last summer), and I’ve been a bit obsessed with it. As in, I made strawberry-banana smoothies for breakfast every day last week. A strawberry-banana smoothie just wasn’t going to cut it this afternoon. I wanted something far more exciting to tide me over until 6 o’clock dinner. So I made an experimental peanut butter-banana smoothie. This may not be rocket science, but I was pumped that it turned out so delicious. It was the perfect afternoon snack.
Hope you have lots of things to get excited about today!

Mmmmm, a peanut butter banana smoothie sounds…well…bananas! I was also excited when I first found The Wonder Years on Netflix. I was less excited when I found out Becky didn’t particularly care.
