We’re moving to Oregon in less than a week. As in, on Saturday. This Saturday. I’m still trying to let that sink in.
In an attempt to prepare ourselves for the big move, we’ve been trying to get as many friends and family together as possible. I think we’ve been pretty successful.
A few weeks ago, I met up with two of my best friends from home, Madri and Carly. I’ve known both of them forever, and they were both bridesmaids in my wedding. I’m a little sad that they both live in Louisville now and get to see each other all the time…
Two weeks ago, a bunch of our college friends came to Lexington to hang out and say goodbye. We were blessed with the most wonderful weather Kentucky has had in months, so we spent the day chatting at the park and eating lots of food. And playing “Things,” which is one of the most hilarious games you can play with a large group of friends.
That Sunday, we met Brendan and Becky in Cincinnati for a lunch of delicious BBQ eaten the way BBQ should be: outside at a picnic table. Please note that the brothers are wearing identical outfits.
And my parents came to visit over this past weekend. We took them to the Woodland Art Fair on Saturday to peruse hundreds of tents full of art. We didn’t have quite as much success as last year, but the weather was perfect and the art was neat, so I’d call it a good day.
Last night, our small group threw us the best going-away party, but more on that later. It’s time to get back to packing!
