Last weekend was glorious. Like, 75 degrees and sunny, glorious. Wearing shorts and sipping smoothies, glorious.
We took advantage of the incredible weather with a little geocaching at a wildlife preserve in Eugene. Eric did all of the research for this particular adventure, stumbling upon this wildlife preserve with 17 caches (starting with this one). I don’t remember how many we actually found, but it was nowhere near 17. There was a lot of poison oak around there, and Eric could probably have a reaction just looking at that stuff, so we had to abandon a few trails. But just walking in the sun was marvelous.
The caches were full of fun surprises, like a Twilight stressball, some ribbon, army men, and a somewhat creepy Oregon police child identification kit. You never know what you’ll find inside those things.
We didn’t actually see any wildlife while we hiked around the wildlife preserve, but perhaps all of the animals were afraid of our guard dog, Joffre. He would probably lick them to death.
Here’s to many more sunny days ahead!

Hi Ally!
We just found your blog. It’s AWESOME and features so many of the activities, tastings and adventures that we promote in the Eugene, Cascades & Coast region. I see that you and your husband are geocachers. You should try our GeoTour. It’s divided into four editions. There are 143 caches hidden at the most scenic and historic places in our county, from the mountains to the Oregon Coast. Here’s the link: http://www.eugenecascadescoast.org/geocaching/
