The weathermen have been bringing me down lately. They’ve been predicting doom and gloom all week long, and they said that this weekend would be cold and rainy. So I was expecting a weekend of watching television and sipping tea.
Luckily, the weathermen were totally wrong. Today was awesome. Perfect. Warm. Sunny. Glorious.
We took a hike up Mount Pisgah with some pals, where we seriously sweated it out (I have yet to learn how to dress properly for 60 degrees and sunshine) to get some incredible views of the mountains.
We felt that it would be wrong to spend such a glorious afternoon indoors, so we decided to head to Sweet Cheeks Winery for some food and live music. We were expecting wood fired pizzas (as advertised on the website), but the only option ended up being a Cajun food truck, which filled us with a not-so-healthy fried shrimp po-boy and a Cajun chicken sandwich. Next time, we’ll bring a picnic, but this was pretty darn tasty too.
Somehow, we ended up table hopping our way up to the best seat on the patio, with sweeping views of the vineyard and all the folks dancing enthusiastically (with a little help from the wine, I suspect) to the band.
Here’s to a perfect Saturday!
