Kentucky pulled out all the stops for our visit over the weekend. The weather was perfect. Like, 75 degrees with low humidity, perfect. Eating brunch on the patio at Doodles, perfect. Perusing the farmer’s market with Dustin and Shelly, perfect. Eating Chick Fil’A for lunch, perfect. Attending one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever seen, perfect.
Needless to say, we didn’t want to leave.
We spent most of Saturday doing wedding things for Brent and Megan, who got married at the incredibly gorgeous Talon Winery in Lexington. It was perfect. And so, so sweet.
But my favorite feature was the billboard hanging on the side of a barn on Talon’s property.
You see, a few years ago, UK Athletics used this photo of Brent on everything football related. Cups, billboards, semi-trucks, etc. It was hilarious. I think our house had 100 Brent White plastic cups in our kitchen. And apparently Mr. White got his hands on the billboard after UK Athletics was finished with it, and he’s been secretly storing it ever since. It made it’s debut for the wedding. It was spectacular. And obviously, we had to take a lot of pictures with it.
After loving on that billboard, we loved on that sunset. Goodness, gracious. It was gorgeous.
And how perfectly adorable is this barn for the wedding reception? Megan, you rocked it out.
The best part of the weekend was catching up with old friends, who we miss like crazy. The sweet southern accents made my heart so happy. And my accent may be significantly thicker now than it was last week….
As Daniel Boone once said, Heaven must be a Kentucky kind of place.
