Like I said, this is going to be a slow catch up.
Let’s wrap up our trip to Michigan.
We spent an afternoon in Grand Rapids with our pals from Oregon, Jordan and Megan. It snowed gloriously enormous flakes the entire time, which made for a grand time.
Eric and I took a hike through the woods behind the house and did a little turkey chasing.
And since we were in the land of snow, we thought we should attempt cross-country skiing at Midland City Forest. It was awesome. And hilarious, because we spent a lot of time falling over. It was actually a bit easier than I expected, especially compared to trying to ski on flat land in regular downhill skis. Instead of those enormous ski boots, we had little shoes that only attached to the ski at the toe, which made it a lot easier to move.
We celebrated Christmas with my immediate family a few days after Christmas. It was definitely a white Christmas in Michigan.
And since we had the most snow we’ve experienced in years, we had to build a snowman. We named him Harold. I imagine he’ll be around until summertime in Michigan.

I’ve never seen this much snow. Or been cross country skiing. Again, living vicariously through you always makes my south Louisiana lifestyle a bit more extreme. Love all of this.
