I figured it’s about time for a little life update.
We’re moving to Portland!
This may not seem like big news to most of you. Eric mentioned recently that most folks probably think we live in Portland anyway, since there aren’t many well-known cities in Oregon. But the move from Eugene to Portland is a pretty big deal for us.
Eric will graduate from UofO’s MBA program next month (crossing a big item off the ol’ bucket list!), and has accepted a job as a Senior Consultant with Hitachi Consulting. He’ll start working there in August, so we’ll be living in Eugene until the end of the summer before moving 100 miles north.
I know my feelings on Portland haven’t been so great over the years, but I’m actually really excited about the move. We knew we wanted to stay in the Pacific Northwest after school, and Portland seems like a pretty good fit for us with its mix of the outdoors, great food, and sustainability (and it’s proximity to Hood River, one of my favorite places ever). Plus, our to-do list for this region is growing by the day, so we’re pretty pumped to have a new home base for exploring and adventuring.
So, for the rest of this season in Eugene, we’ll try to squeeze in all the things we haven’t done yet (it seems we’ve only scratched the surface in our 2 years here), and prepare for life in the big city. I’ll keep you all up to date on how Portland (hopefully) completely wins me over in the coming year.
Here’s to the next big thing!
