Today is our fourth anniversary. What?!
It’s been a pretty exciting four years, with college graduations, Pacific Northwestern vacations, a cross-country move, and a master’s degree, along with about a zillion other moments of fun. I don’t want to get too sappy on you folks, so I’ll just say it’s a real pleasure being married to Eric, who makes every day a little better. He’s a catch.
I thought it would be fun to take a look back at anniversary celebrations from the past four years.
Wedding Day: We got married at Locust Grove, a historic home in Louisville, Kentucky, surrounded by incredible friends and family. We danced all night long, laughed incredibly hard, and had the best party of our lives.
Year 1: We were living in Lexington, Kentucky, and celebrated our anniversary with a train ride on the Big South Fork Scenic Railway through Daniel Boone National Forest. (Read about it here.)
Year 2: We were still living in Lexington (just weeks away from our cross-country move), and celebrated with dinner downtown, and a spontaneous trip to Charleston, South Carolina.
Year 3: We were living in Eugene, Oregon and took a little getaway to the Lost Coast of California, where we hiked in the sand, picked apples, ate steak, and visited the Redwoods. Basically, it was glorious. (Read about it here and here.)
Year 4: We’re still living in Eugene, but are moving to Portland at the end of the month. We kicked off our celebration with a hike to the summit of the South Sister in the Central Oregon Cascades.
Here’s to a million more anniversaries! Is that too much to ask?
