In this season of non-stop rain, there has been (too) much television watching in the Ringer household, and Master of None was a super fun week of our lives. Obviously, some parts are very Aziz Ansari stand-up comedy crass, but other parts are hilarious and sweet and well worth a watch.
Because I love books by celebrities, I read Aziz’s book on dating and relationships in the modern world, which was equal parts entertaining and terrifying, and mostly served to make me so thankful that I started dating my husband when I was 17, long before smartphones and internet dating and a million new ways to make your life awkward.
Currently reading this book and wishing Jen Hatmaker was my best friend as I laugh out loud all by myself.
Just to assure you that I am the basic white girl you think I am, I’ve been watching this performance over and over again. (Aside from LOVING the song, my favorite part is when we see Jessica Biel swooning over her husband along with the rest of us around the 3:14 mark.)
This is the best explanation for why I am obsessed with The Great British Baking Show, and why I can’t watch any other cooking competition shows. Thank you, Great Britain, for being forever charming.
When we were kiddos, a lot of the family TV we watched taught some sort of valuable lesson underneath the comedy (think Home Improvement, Full House, basically anything in the TGIF line-up). We don’t see that too much these days, but the forever loveable Tim Allen brings it home season after season in Last Man Standing. It helps that Tim Allen reminds me 100% of my dad. Four delightful seasons are on Netflix.
For those of you who enjoy cooking once and eating multiple times (don’t we all?), this Mexican Tortilla Casserole has been wonderful and so easy. We serve it with avocado, cilantro, and tortilla chips.
Hilarious thoughts on Gilmore Girls for all of us Stars Hollow enthusiasts to enjoy.
If I can manage to drag myself down to Powell’s sometime soon, I want to flip through this book and feed my mountain cabin obsession.
Speaking of cabins, let’s all just swoon over this roundup of pretties for a while.
I’m getting so excited for our Thanksgiving trip next week, and daydreaming about last year’s snow-filled trip to the Wallowa Mountains.
Everyone’s snow photos from the past few weeks (particularly this one) are getting me so jazzed for Christmas in Michigan this year! I’m hoping to convince Eric to go snow-seeking with me this weekend around Mount Hood.
Hope your Tuesday is full of your favorite things!
