The Columbia River Gorge is straight up magic.
A few weekends ago, we took a hike through the woods, completely unsure of how the weather would cooperate with our scenic vista hike. It turned out to be a fog-filled journey that obscured most of the views at the top, but it’s hard to find anything more magical than Oregon in the fog.
We hiked up to Indian Point, which would have amazing views of the Columbia River and the surrounding mountains on a clear day. We got tiny glimpses of the view as we sat at the top, but mostly just watched the clouds fly around us.
The 8-ish mile hike ended up being quite a bit more muscle-burning than we anticipated, thanks to a lot of straight up and straight down, rather than switchbacks. All the more reason to stop and take in those dreamy views.
