It’s been half a month since our last blog post! Goodness, gracious! We’ve been incredibly busy the past few weeks. We just moved into our new downtown apartment on Saturday and have spent most of this week trying to get organized. Everything is still a huge mess, so I’m afraid that photos of the new place will have to come later. We also don’t have the internet yet, so Eric and I have been visiting the coffee shop around the corner at random hours of the day and night to get connected to the world.
The new apartment has been a bit overwhelming, as we’ve probably quadrupled our amount of space, but still have the same amount of furniture as we did in the studio apartment. That being said, we don’t have a lot of the things we need/want (probably more on the ‘want’ side, as no one really ‘needs’ a TV stand), so it’s hard to get things put away. And even though we’ve upgraded in terms of apartment size, we lost some storage space in the kitchen and bathroom in comparison to the studio. I know it’s hard to believe, but that 400-square-foot apartment had a ton of kitchen storage. And since about 50% of what we own belongs in the kitchen, it’s a little difficult to make everything fit. But we’re working on it. And constantly scanning Craigslist for living room furniture.
In other news, both of our families have put their houses on the market, as of this week. So if you or any of your friends are looking for homes in Oldham County, we have two great ones to share! I’m sad to say that our visits to Oldham County will soon be decreasing. It’s crazy how quickly our lives are changing!
Hope you all are doing well! Thanks for reading! Photos of the new apartment will come soon!
And since posts look lame without a photo, here’s a glimpse into our old studio apartment. We turned in the keys yesterday. Goodbye, first married home!
