our european extravaganza.

In hopes of not actually forgetting this entire European excursion, I’m sharing the photos and highlights from our autumn trip to London, France, and Switzerland. Eric had to go to London and France for work (tough stuff, but somebody has to do it), so I tagged along and made a grand little vacation out of it.
London
This was our first visit to London, and pretty much everything we knew going in was from either Harry Potter or The Crown. So here’s Eric on that bridge from Harry Potter:
The weather was pretty “meh” while we were there, so the photos aren’t particularly gorgeous or anything, but I will say that I liked London a lot more than I expected. Not being a big city loving gal, I was surprised how much I enjoyed walking around the city.
And here’s me in front of Buckingham Palace (obviously heavily featured on The Crown):

vacation, day 1: arriving in seattle.
(Friday, September 30) We could not have asked for better weather for our first day of vacation in the Pacific Northwest. We arrived in Seattle this afternoon, welcomed by 65 degree temperatures and sunny skies. Perfect for our first walk around the city. But before we could start exploring, we took advantage of the awesome…
traveling.
Eric and I have done our fair share of traveling since getting married last August, starting with our (super awesome) honeymoon to Rosemary Beach, Florida. Since then, we’ve made not one, but TWO trips to Baton Rouge to celebrate wonderful friends and weddings. We’ve traveled to Ohio, Alabama, and Tennessee, visiting family and friends. I…
community supported agriculture. week 10.
We picked up our final CSA basket last week, and I’m super sad to have to say goodbye to our bi-weekly basket of fresh produce. This is definitely something we’ll have to sign up for again next year. And, once again, I completely forgot to take pictures of our basket. I’ll blame it on how…
a tour of our apartment.

Okay, so I know I promised photos of our apartment months ago. We finally reached a point last weekend where things were clean and organized enough for me to take photos of the place (funny how inviting people over will inspire you to put things away), so here’s your official tour of the Ringer house!…
community supported agriculture. week 9.
I have failed in the photo department this week. It was pouring down rain on the day we picked up our 9th CSA basket, so I never got around to taking photos. I hope you’ll forgive me. I know how much you all loved looking at that basket of food every week… Here’s the bounty…
apple festival.

I wanted to give this post the title of “the best weekend of the year”, but I was afraid that Eric would point out the falsity of that statement. You see, I really love the apple festival, so as we pulled into the apple orchard, I started talking about how this is my favorite weekend…
weekend in clarksville.
A couple of weeks ago, my parents moved to Clarksville, Tennessee (and in the same week, Eric’s parents moved to San Diego!) Once they got settled into their new house, my sister, Eric, and I went to visit for Labor Day weekend. First off, let me give my praise for 3-day weekends. I don’t know…
community supported agriculture. week 8.

I love our CSA. Have I said that before? I really think that jumping on this exciting agriculture movement was one of the best decisions we’ve made. I love that we have the opportunity to support a local farm, all while eating a delicious array of local produce. With each basket of food, I learn…
the latest robot.
Today’s nannying activity. We made robot costumes. My attempt to teach the robot dance was not fruitful. -Ally
the nanny life.
I’m a nanny. Now, I know that a lot of you sit around thinking, “I wonder what that’s like?” Well, here’s your answer, folks. I usually start my workday somewhere between 7 and 9 am. The family that I work for has a different schedule every week, so I don’t usually have the same schedule…
